Introducing
ENDO/BATH A New Way to Manually Disinfect Endoscopes |
ENDO/BATH is a new device for disinfecting endoscopes.
It replaces the open top rectangular-shaped and circular-shaped soaking basins currently in use. ENDO/BATH surrounds the endoscope in a temperature-controlled cocoon. The liquid surface area of ENDO/BATH is sharply reduced in size, thereby reducing the rate of evaporation of liquid disinfectant. Reducing the rate of fume production reduces healthcare workers’ risks from inhaling the fumes. Dropping the entire coiled endoscope into the open top basins can produce a splash. In comparison, endoscopes are threaded into the ENDO/BATH one section at a time. With its smaller liquid surface area and a more compact basin design, there is less of the disinfectant to splash. No more carrying the soaking basin over to the sink to be poured out. ENDO/BATH is drained by a valve at the base of the unit, through a tube directly into the sink. |
